So for the first time I drove my self to school.

Everything was fine, except the off ramp I had to get off at had bumper to bumper traffic, going all the way from the light at the top to the ramp entrance. Now remember, I’m a fairly new driver and I drive a stick, so I had to go through the most tedious 15 minutes of my life, but I made it, got to school parked my car. When I came back I was surprised to find no dents or anything (thank god) and some senior had a turbo on his car, so good for him. About a mile away from home my coolant light comes on, shit. So I turn off my air conditioning, in California, yay. When I finally arrived at my house and parked, I discovered a nail in my rear driver side tire, and it was shaped to the tire so it had to of been there for a bit. So I will get those things fixed this weekend because it isn’t urgent and my tire doesn’t have a leak yet. So how was your day oppo? Mine was, well could be better.

Yeah I definitely got better at it as those 15 minutes went on. And then at a light I put it in 3rd, not 1st and stalled it. So I can’t exactly say I made any progress today, lol.

It was a very eventful day! Congrats on making it!

My first time driving to school I blew a tire, so you got lucky with the nail, it’s very disconcerting and I had to call my insurance to come and change it for me because I couldn’t figure out how to do it; so that was fun...

Driving alone with a stick is the most exhausting but fun thing ever. I stalled a dozen times on my first drive alone.

Ah, I remember my first licensed solo drive (also with a stick). It was fun, but at the same time, I couldn’t believe I was legally allowed to do that.

I remember my first day driving to school, with a stick too! Now after almost 15 years driving a manual, sometimes I too put it in 3rd at a stop light and stall it so don't feel bad. Besides, if you drove in traffic your first day and only killed it once then you're doing pretty well!

Yeah I’m getting better and not killing it because I quickly grew the instinct to slam the clutch down if my battery light comes on. For some reason just a second before I stall my battery light comes on. But other than what I like to call “the shudder of death” (I think we all know that shudder) I’ve been doing pretty well, still love driving a stick.
